Tom Ford and Linda McElroy take a walk at the Riverfront Friday morning. Many local
folks  take a break from their day on the riverfront.

Away from the noise and haste

It's where people go to get away from it all....and it's only a few blocks away from downtown businesses, highways, and Southeast Missouri State.

Even on a quiet Friday morning, people from throughout the area find their quiet time at the Mississippi Riverfront at Cape Girardeau.

"We come every day," said Charles Johnson, who with his wife, Annette, drive down to the riverfront for a morning stroll.

the river). I can get away from it all, and still have the convenience of town," she said.
